
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton arrived in Kabul on Wednesday (10/19/2011), toboost diplomatic ahead of an international conference to be held later this year with a view to finding a peaceful solution of 10-year war in Afghanistan. Clinton is scheduled to meetAfghan President Hamid Karzai on Thursday (20/10/2011).
According to a U.S. foreign ministry official, the plane landed in Kabul Hillary at 21:15o'clock local time or 23:45 pm for a visit aimed at building a "diplomatic surge" announced earlier this year.
"He will continue diplomatic efforts to help Afghanistan transition and achieve a political settlement," said the official who asked not to be named.
A conference which followed the region's countries will be held in Istanbul early November.International meeting of foreign ministers in Bonn, Germany, in early December, will be part of the discussion of this conference.
